NorthStudio respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This Privacy Policy describes the type of information we may collect or that you may provide when you use any of our applications or related services (collectively, the "Products").

In a nutshell, MonokaiToolkit does not store or share personal data. We use non-personal data to improve the usability of our Products, identify technical issues, and gain insight into advertising practices.

Our definition of "personal data" is based on the privacy laws and regulations of the EU, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These are widely regarded as the strongest privacy protections in the world. We consider any information about you or your behavior that can be traced back to you as personal data. Any information that falls outside of this is "non-personal data".

Information we may collect

You don't need to provide us any personal information to use our Products.

When reporting an issue with our Products or providing email feedback, you may provide information by which you may be personally identifiable, such as an email address. Or information that is about you, but individually does not identify you, such as you operating and app version numbers.

When you use our Products, it may use technology to automatically collect:

  • Usage Data. We may collect information about how you use our Products, such as the numbers and frequency of use to our Products and their components. This data is only used in the aggregate. This type of collective data enables us to figure out how often people use parts of our Products, so we can make them appealing to as many users as possible
  • Device Information. We may collect information about your mobile device and internet connection, including operating system, browser type, mobile network information.This data is only used in the aggregate. This type of collective data enables us to optimize our apps for the most common devices.
  • Non-Personal Advertising Data. When you use the App, we may collect, store and analyze non-personally identifiable data regarding advertisements shown to you and other end users on the third-party websites accessed using the App. This advertising data is not associated with individual users and does not include personally identifiable information. Our goal is to build tools to bring transparency and accountability to the advertising industry, and enhance our tracker blocker technology.
  • Analytics Data. We use a third-party web analytics service to help us understand the effectiveness of ads that may be displayed to you. For more information on our use of third-party analytics services, see Third Party Providers below.

Information we explicitly do NOT collect

When you access our services (or any Website), your Web device sends information about your device IP address. This information can often be used to identify you directly. To protect your privacy, our services explicitly do not store your IP address.

When may we share or disclose information

We may share or disclose information we collect or you provide:

  • With your consent.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business.
  • To Sensor Tower, Inc, for use in the products and services it provides, such as at sensortower.com and pathmatics.com.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of NorthStudio’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by NorthStudio about our App users is among the assets transferred.
  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including the App EULA.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of NorthStudio, our customers, or others.

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual without restriction.

Third Party Providers

We may use Google Analytics, an independent web analytics service offered by Google, to help us understand the ads and effectiveness of the ads that may be displayed to you. Our implementation does not rely on cookies and the only information we pass to Google is a randomly generated installation identifier associated with your installation of our Products. We recommend that you read Google’s privacy policy; learn about Google Analytics security and privacy protections; and and learn about how Google safeguards your data. Please note that we do not have direct control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of Google, its sites, or its services like Google Analytics.

Information for EU, EEA, Swiss and California Users

MonokaiToolkit is committed to user privacy globally, and our existing practices reflect that through minimal collection of data and ensuring users have control over their personal information.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union (EU) requires us to outline those practices in a specific manner for users in the EU. In line with the GDPR, we collect and process the data outlined in this Privacy Policy on one of the following bases, depending on the circumstances:

For the purposes of fulfilling our contractual obligations to users, including:

  • Providing users with the services and apps they have requested.
  • Providing customer support.
  • For a legitimate interest associated with the operation of our business, including: Enhancing the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of our site, services, and apps.

The following rights are granted under the GDPR and California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). MonokaiToolkit applies these rights to all users of our products, regardless of your location:

  • The right to know if personal data is being shared, and to whom
  • The right to access your personal data
  • The right to exercise your privacy rights without being discriminated against

Children Under the Age of 16

Our Products are not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Data Security

Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through our App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures we provide.

When you use MonokaiToolkit applications, you interact with Third-party websites. MonokaiToolkit doesn't have control over third-party websites or their privacy practices, so be cautious when sharing information with any website.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will post the new privacy policy on this page with a notice that the privacy policy has been updated.

The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting this privacy policy to check for any changes.
